We’re actively seeking to grow The Fund to $500,000 by the end of 2026 to help reinforce coop to coop solidarity on a global scale.

Who can become a member?

During 2026, our ‘build phase’, membership is open to cooperatives across the globe, of all sizes across all sectors. We welcome participation from cooperatives, cooperative federations and cooperative support organisations. Individual membership will be introduced in 2027.

• Join a global network of cooperatives standing in solidarity in time of crisis
• Help shape and fund impactful cooperative development projects focusing on food security, climate change mitigation, decent work and gender equity.
• Participate in a democratic, transparent, and values-driven organisation

• Welcome pack with use of FICD member logo
• Voting rights at the AGM
• Voting rights on fund distribution projects
• Option to propose projects to support
• Impact reports, newsletters and access to member webinars

Membership Criteria

We’re keeping it simple. You can become a member if: i) you are a cooperative; ii) you have surplus to contribute, the amount being based on your financial strength.

Membership Contribution options:

Supporter Member: £1 to £4,999

• Ideal for small to medium-sized cooperatives who want to actively support international cooperative development and have a voice in fund governance. All the benefits are outlined above.

Growth Member: £5 to £24,999

• For cooperatives seeking deeper engagement and visibility,who want to strengthen their global partnerships and to shape the future of cooperative development through strategic collaboration and visibility.

Solidarity Member: £25,000 +

• For visionary cooperatives and federation across all sectors who want to play an active role in shaping programmes and influence global campaigns.
