Co-op members in Malawi walking to a meeting

Become a Member

Stand with cooperators worldwide to build resilience across borders. Join a growing global alliance investing in equity, innovation, and hope. Your membership is more than support, it’s a commitment to a fairer, more inclusive future.

We’re actively seeking to grow The Fund to $1,000,000 by the end of 2026 to help reinforce coop to coop solidarity on a global scale.

Can you help us reach our initial target?

We believe in the transformative power of cooperatives to rebuild communities, foster social equity, promote peace and drive sustainable economic growth.

Our members are building cooperative resilience across the globe.

Who can become a member?

In our first 18 months, our membership is open to organisations that operate on cooperative values and principles, and are committed to cooperative solidarity and development.

How can members contribute?

Making an annual financial contribution is the best way to strengthen the fund and build long-term global cooperative resilience.

Regardless of the contribution amount, all members will be invited to participate in proposing projects to support and encouraged to vote on which projects receive funds.

If you would rather pay your membership contribution via bank transfer, email info@fund.coop

Members can also contribute material support in-kind, such as goods, services, or expertise that align with our goals and enhance our work. Get in touch at info@fund.coop to let us know how you can help.

How much and how often should we contribute as a Member?

We encourage members to contribute between £5k and £50k annually depending on the size and financial strength of their cooperative.

Members can also choose to make a monthly contribution if that works better for you.

There is no set formula for how much you contribute, and we invite you to decide what is reasonable and sustainable for your organisation.

How do members benefit?

Becoming a member means you will be joining a network of organisations who believe in the transformative power of co-operatives to rebuild communities, foster social equity, promote peace and drive sustainable economic growth.

You’ll receive regular updates on what the fund is helping to support, giving you everything you need to demonstrate your extraordinary commitment to Principle Six for annual reports and in internal and external communications alike.

Plus, as we grow members will have the opportunity to help develop proposals for distributions and projects.

As a democratic organisation, FICD members will also be eligible to nominate themselves or their candidates for places on our board.

If you’re interested in joining us in our mission to support and empower cooperatives worldwide, please get in touch. Together we can make a significant impact in Building a Better World.
