In the first year of our five-year journey to build a truly global cooperative solidarity fund, FICD is making US$68,000 available for cooperative-led action, responding to urgent need while learning, adapting and growing The Fund for the long term.
Eligibility
Individual expressions of interest may seek between $7000 and $25,000 USD. Support may be provided as an individual FICD distribution or as part of a co-funded partnership.
We are seeking expressions of interest that fit one or more of FICD’s three purposes:
- Crisis response: supporting immediate humanitarian assistance through cooperatives and cooperative infrastructure organisations.
- Post-crisis rebuilding: helping cooperatives and their members recover and strengthen livelihoods.
- Long-term cooperative development: strengthening cooperative economies, co-op-to-co-op trade, networks and partnerships.
We are looking for locally owned, cooperative-led work with a credible delivery partner and practical arrangements for receiving and managing funds. To fully understand FICD’s aims and ambitions, you can learn more about us here.
Applicants do not need to be a member of FICD to be considered.
Successful applicants will not be required to repay this money, and there will not be a lengthy reporting process as per a traditional grant. To ensure FICD and partners monitor progress, demonstrate how funds have been used, share learning and communicate the difference cooperative solidarity is making, successful recipients will only be required to provide straightforward financial and impact reporting.

To express interest, please email the following to info@fund.coop:
- Name of cooperative or organisation.
- Which FICD purpose(s) your proposal supports.
- Country where the work will take place.
- Contact name, role, email address and telephone number.
- Two references from relevant cooperative, network or partner organisations.
- Confirmation that your organisation has a bank account able to receive international transfers.
- A short narrative of no more than 500 words describing the need, proposed activity, beneficiaries and planned use of funding.
Deadline
All applications must be received by 11:59 BST Sunday 11th October 2026.
Selection Process
The FICD Board will review expressions of interest and consider the most appropriate routes for support.
We plan to make decisions by the end of November 2026.
